Sounds like you need to replace the cable since your tv is displaying something. If that doesn’t work your console may be defective.

BATAVIA, NY, January 25, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ — Apogee, the nation’s largest provider of managed residential network (ResNet) services for higher education, today announced a partnership with Genesee Community College in Batavia, NY to deploy comprehensive ResNet services to the school’s roughly 400 on-campus residents. The decision to partner with Apogee follows several years of service offered by a national cable provider.
“The network services that were put in place by the cable provider just didn’t meet the needs of Genesee’s residential community,” said Chuck Brady, Apogee CEO. “As robust wireless coverage and support for network-enabled mobile devices become a necessity on campus, we’re seeing that many of the solutions offered by large, mass-market ISPs who don’t have an exclusive focus on ResNet just no longer cut it.”
According to John Sisson, director of Genesee’s College Village residences, the move to a specialized ResNet provider was part of a strategic investment in the success of Genesee’s student population.
“The number one goal of the GCC Foundation is student success [and] this new network upgrade greatly assists our residents in becoming successful students,” said John Sisson, director of College Village.
Prior to the transition, GCC students experienced only limited wireless coverage and shared bandwidth access within each unit. Immediately after the the switch last December, students began enjoying dense capacity wireless coverage throughout every residential housing community, as well as comprehensive network access with dedicated bandwidth per user. Residents also benefit from live 24-hour network support accessible by phone, email or text message, as well as expanded VoIP phone and cable television choices.
“The wireless internet is working flawlessly so far,” said Kaileigh Domster, a resident assistant at College Village. “I love that I can connect my personal laptop to the network and not have any connection issues.”
The need for reliable network access on campus extends beyond campus living to academics, said Domster.
“It’s imperative that we can connect with our professors for any last minute questions regarding final papers or final exams,” Domster added.

About Apogee
Apogee is the largest, most innovative provider of on-campus residential networks (ResNet) in higher education. Partnering with Apogee for ResNet services allows colleges and universities to enhance their network infrastructure while offloading the growing volume of administrative responsibilities associated with managing a student network. This partnership allows IT to focus on the mission-critical tasks of the university, such as growing the enterprise network and facilitating the development and use of e-learning tools and content. Question by : How to get sound from HDMI?
Hello everybody,
How do I get only the sound from my HDMI sources (laptop, HD player) play to my speaker?
So what cable do I need? I know I can disable sound from HDMI ouput in my laptop to TV but I don’t know how to get the sound to play in the speaker. Optical audio? or 3.5mm jack? or 2 color jack?
HDMI output —> carry images —> HDTV
” —-> carry sound —-> speaker
@Christ: thanks for the answer. The speaker connected to the DVD by the 2 color cable, so I have to buy an optical audio cable anyway
Is there other way to use the 3.5mm jack to get audio from my laptop?
Best answer:

Piper Technologies
Structured Cabling Networking Installation RALEIGH, NC, January 24, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ — With record numbers of people out of work across the Southeast and the nation, Piper Technologies is doing its part to reduce unemployment. Piper Technologies (http://www.pipertechnologies.com/) is a structured cabling and network services organization that designs and installs data, voice, Wi-Fi, and video cabling systems and conducts cabling rollouts for a variety of vertical markets, including the retail, financial, healthcare and security industries. Next week, Piper is hiring for a select number of open cabling/field tech positions using a unique “open house” interview format.
“Piper is a company built on strong ethics and a deep commitment to our clients as well as our employees. We have experienced a strong start to the new year and in anticipation of continued growth, we are preparing by hiring and training new technicians now,” says Brian Snider, Piper’s president and CEO. “We want to give something back to the area in which we have found success, and we hope that our current and prospective clients will reward us for this initiative by continuing to place their trust in us as a company and in the individuals who work for Piper throughout the region.”
The company is hosting a unique open house and inviting job seekers to attend. Job seekers who believe they can fulfill the requirements for the position should first send their resume to Careers@pipertechnologies.com. Interested applicants are then invited to attend an open house at Piper Technologies’ Raleigh headquarters on January 31, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
During the open house, applicants will be interviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. The company would prefer to hire people with the skill sets it is seeking, but the company’s vice president, John Franse, says Piper is willing to train people who might not have the needed technical skills if they have other qualities the company considers valuable. “Cabling technicians can be taught the technical skills they need. What we consider most important in a candidate is dedication and a determination to do the job right, on time and on budget,” he says.
The company will be hosting a unique one-day “open house” interview format and invites anyone seeking a job who believes they would be a good fit for the company to attend. Anyone attending the open house should email their resume in advance.
There are only a handful of open positions today, but Franse says the company will be adding new techs on an ongoing basis throughout the year as it closes new business with clients. “We wanted to do this a little differently, “Franse says. “We all know that companies hang onto resumes for possible future openings. But those resumes tend to be forgotten when the next position becomes available. With an open house format where each candidate receives a personal interview, we can determine which of those people we want to hire today or tomorrow and be ready to call on them immediately when we have a new position to fill. Those personal interviews make the difference in a candidate being remembered when a position opens up or just being a resume in the back of a filing cabinet in HR.”
Cable technicians install various types of cable (i.e., twisted pair, coaxial, stranded cable, solid conductor low voltage cable, single and multi-mode fiber optic cable). The company is most interested in candidates who have experience running and terminating cable, punching down patch panels, and dressing racks as well as those with knowledge of network and POS equipment installation, configuration and testing. However, it is willing to train individuals who do not have these skills if they meet certain other, less technical requirements that include:
- Having a valid driver’s license.
- Being a motivated, self-starter.
- Able to work with little supervision.
- Having a flexible schedule; willing to work all shifts.
- Able to travel out of the area for the duration of jobs.
- Have strong problem-solving and customer relations skills.
- Able to read/comprehend technical manuals.
The open positions pay between $10 and $16 per hour. The company asks that job seekers not call ahead of time. Simply email their resumes to Careers@pipertechnologies.com and then attend the open house on Tuesday, January 31st, at Piper’s headquarters: 7424 ACC Blvd.; Suite 101; Raleigh, NC 27617.

Question by Forbendon: Is this an okay gaming TV?
I would like to get a new TV mostly for the purpose of gaming. I’d like to stay under or around $ 300, though if the buy is good enough, maybe, just maybe up to $ 500. I’m not the pickiest person, but it does need to be of some quality. I was looking at a “TCL L32HDF11TA 32-Inch 720p 60 Hz LCD HDTV.” Here’s the page http://www.amazon.com/L32HDF11TA-32-Inch-2-Year-Warranty-Black/dp/B003LPUWV8/ref=sr_1_1?s=tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1289763244&sr=1-1
Any other suggestions are welcome, but I really want to know if this TV isn’t a bad buy.
(And, also, I’ve heard about some computer monitors that can be used as TV monitors being a good idea, if anyone wanted to chime in on that.)

Answer by Josh
I have never heard of this company before. I would be wary about that but it has an excellent review average. I personally don’t like 720p but it’s still HD, barely. 60 hz refresh rate is okay, my tv has this same refresh rate but I wish it was faster. With fast paced games you will notice ghosting of the images. Spend the extra $ 150 and get the 1080p model. Look into plasma as well. Modern plasma tvs have a refresh rate of 600 hz, no ghosting whatsoever. Most of the drawbacks of early plasma tvs like burn in and energy consumption are almost non existent. The image can stay on the screen for hours instead of just minutes before it’s burned into the screen. Most include burn in removal features just in case.

Question by Greg: Need help hooking up my 360 to my Tobisha TV.?
Never had an HDTV before so I’m sorta confused on how exactly I’m supposed to do this >< I have the switch turned to "HDTV" (on the plug in to the 360, rather than TV), and have the green blue and red cords plugged in the back of the TV but I cant find the channel it should be on, or if I have the cords in right >< Any help is MUCH appriciated. : )
: / I've gone through all the possible places for the 360 to be seen, all black, no idea what more I need to do, seems like I have it in right, could it maybe be something I have to do within the settings of the 360?
Oh! Got it working! Went into System Settings and changed the HDTV settings to 1080i, problem solved : ) First time seeing 360 in HD, it's....amaz...ing....

Assuming everything is connected and ON, there is NO channel on the TV. Use the remote and find the “source” or “input” key. Keep pressing it until you find your Xbox (something like Comp1 or Comp2).

Question by sortovhere: Why does my Xbox 360 gameplay seem to lag when i hook it up to my big screen?
So, i have a smaller non flat screen tv in my bedroom and i play xbox on it all the time, earlier today i hooked my 360 up to my flatscreen in the living room and it tends to lag. it’s hard to explain and it’s not a mess up with either of the systems it’s just the fact that it doesnt move as fast as it would on my smaller tv. I’ve tried switiching it to “HDTV” mode on the cords and i went through all the menus on the xbox but it still throws off my motor skills when i shoot the gun, run in any direction, etc. and as i said before, it’s not a lag as if the screen freezes for a moment or anything of that nature, the gameplay is fine it’s just the fact that it has a slight pause (maybe like 0.001 seconds) but i can feel it and so can my friends that play the game all the time.
Best answer:
Answer by The Great Schzimmy Deenie
All xboxs do this when hooked up to a bigger tv, especially HD. To fix it you need to calibrate it. You can do this by going to the menus in any game your playing and going to the video options. There should be something about using an HDTV and calibrating it.
